Reduced Course Load
Occasionally, a student’s disability may make it impractical for the student to manage a full course load. In these cases, a student may be eligible for an accommodation of a reduced course load (i.e. the ability to take a less-than-fulltime course load but still be considered a full-time student by the university). Though DSP may approve the accommodation, students will need to understand the potential impact of the reduced load on factors such as outside financial aid and external enrollment requirements. When applicable, students are encouraged to share information about their reduced course load accommodation with offices such as the Office of International Students, the Athletic Department, Veteran’s Affairs, Financial Aid, and Academic Advisors to understand any potential impacts of the reduced course load.
